Family Visa Application

In below two situations, can apply for family visa for foreigners.

Situation one: Foreigner who is married with Chinese citizen or his/her family member with permanent resident permit in China.
In this situation, foreigner members could come to China with Q1 or Q2 visa.

Family members refer to spouses, parents, sons, daughters, spouses of sons or daughters, brothers, sisters, grandparents, grandsons, granddaughters and parents-in-law.

Q1      means foreigners who are family members of Chinese citizens or of foreigners with Chinese permanent residence and intend to go to China for family reunion, or to those who intend to go to China for the purpose of foster care. The intended duration of stay in China exceeds 180 days.

Q2      means foreigners who intend to visit their relatives who are Chinese citizens residing in China or foreigners with permanent residence in China. The intended duration of stay in China is no more than 180 days.

With Q1/Q2 visa, foreigners can go to related departments to apply for family residence permit. And can renew easily when the residence permit will be expired within one month.

Documents required:
1) Family member's original passport with valid visa;
2) Family member's Police Registration Form;
3) Family member's health certificate issued by authorized hospital in Guangzhou;
4) The family Relation Certificate need to be authenticated by China consulate or embassy stationed at that country; or authenticated by his country's consulate or embassy stationed in China.
5) The foreigner (to be visited)'s passport with permanent resident permit, or Chinese citizen’s ID card.
6) Chinese citizen’s property ownership certificate or related documents.
7) Other docs required.

Situation two: Foreigners with Residence Permit in Guangzhou who can apply for corresponding Family Visa for his/her foreign family members.
In this situation, foreign family members could come to Guangzhou with S1, S2.

S1 means foreigners who intend to go to China to visit the foreigners working or studying in China to whom they are spouses, parents, sons or daughters under the age of 18 or parents-in-law, or to those who intend to go to China for other private affairs. The intended duration of stay in China exceeds 180 days.

S2 means foreigners who intend to visit their family members who are foreigners working or studying in China, or to those who intend to go to China for other private matters.The intended duration of stay in China is no more than 180 days.

Documents required:
1) Family member's original passport with valid visa;
2) Family member's Police Registration Form;
3) Family member's health certificate issued by authorized hospital in Guangzhou;
4) The family Relation Certificate need to be authenticated by China consulate or embassy stationed at that country; or authenticated by his country's consulate or embassy stationed in China.
5) The foreigner (to be visited)'s passport with valid resident permit;
6) The employer /Guangzhou Company’s related certificates and support docs.
7) Other docs required.
